The Yokohama Tea Project will host 'YOKOHAMA TEA FES: Time for Tea and Sweets (New Tea & Wagashi)' on Saturday, June 20, and Sunday, June 21, 2026, at MM Terrace in Minato Mirai, Nishi-ku, Yokohama.
Yokohama has long developed as a port town, where tea cultures such as Japanese tea, black tea, and Chinese tea have intersected. 'YOKOHAMA TEA FES: Time for Tea and Sweets' is an event that started with the desire to share the appeal of tea, regardless of genre, in Yokohama.
This year's theme is 'New Tea and Wagashi.'
In this season when new tea arrives, tea gardens from Shizuoka and Kanagawa, as well as specialty shops within Yokohama, will gather to introduce their carefully selected teas. Visitors can enjoy two days of discovering various teas, including Japanese tea, Japanese black tea, Taiwanese tea, and domestic herbal tea.
In addition, many sweets that pair well with tea, such as wagashi and baked goods made with tea or rice flour, will be featured.
Furthermore, this time, we will feature 'Dorayaki' (red bean pancake) perfect for tea. From classic ones to those using seasonal fruits or rice flour, the best tastes from each shop will be gathered.
Tea tastings are also planned at the venue. While searching for your favorite tea and sweets, you can also enjoy finding ceramics and craft works that enrich your tea time at home.
