Eitaro Sohonpo Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Nihonbashi, Tokyo; President and CEO: Masami Hosoda; hereinafter "Eitaro Sohonpo") has relocated its main store to a temporary location within the same Chuo-ku, Nihonbashi 1-chome area due to urban redevelopment projects in the Nihonbashi 1-chome district, and has been operating from there since April 2026.

<Nihonbashi 1-chome District Urban Redevelopment Project>

Several large-scale urban redevelopment projects are currently underway in Tokyo. One of these is the "Nihonbashi 1-chome District Urban Redevelopment Project." The "Nihonbashi Riverwalk" concept, integrated with the undergrounding of the Shuto Expressway, aims to bring back the sky to the Nihonbashi River, which has been covered by the expressway for many years, and create a new townscape that utilizes the waterfront. This is a long-term project expected to be completed around 2040.

Due to this development, our main store building (9 floors above ground) at Nihonbashi 1-2-5 will be demolished. The building, which has stood for 63 years since its completion in 1963, will fulfill its role and pass the baton to the new town development.

While it is common to relocate a main store to another area during redevelopment, our company, out of our deep affection for Nihonbashi, our founding location, has decided to continue operations in this area during the redevelopment period. We will continue our business in Nihonbashi by relocating within the area until the completion of the new building.

The current relocation plan is as follows:

- Temporary Store 1: Chuo-ku, Nihonbashi 1-2-8 (Currently Open)

- Temporary Store 2: Within Nihonbashi Area (Scheduled for Autumn 2027~) - New Main Store: Chuo-ku, Nihonbashi 1-2-5 (After Redevelopment)

The store currently in operation is located at the corner of the intersection near Nihonbashi South Exit (south side of the bridge). Being on a corner lot makes it relatively easy to find. We hope that when you visit Nihonbashi, you will take a look at the National Important Cultural Property, the famous bridge Nihonbashi, and then stop by the Eitaro Sohonpo main store.

Eitaro Sohonpo will continue to walk alongside Nihonbashi even in this era of great change in the city.

Details about the main store relocation and the new store are also introduced in the following TikTok video, so please take a look.
