Elecom Launches 'Security Assessment Service' to Visualize Security Status and Prioritize Tasks

Elecom Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Osaka; President and Representative Director: Koichi Ishimi) has launched a 'Security Assessment Service' to support compliance with the 'Security Countermeasure Assessment System (SCS Assessment System)' promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI).

Background of the Service The SCS Assessment System is operated by the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA) under the supervision of METI and the National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC). Scheduled to begin operations around the end of fiscal year 2026, it targets a wide range of businesses regardless of industry or size. However, common challenges reported to us include a lack of organized preparation, difficulty in setting priorities, and a shortage of specialized internal staff. We believe that the first step in responding to the system is to organize the current status of corporate security measures.
