The new methods are "Method He" and "Public Personal Authentication (JPKI) with facial photography," both utilizing ID card IC chip reading and facial photos. This upgrade aims to drastically reduce review times and enhance security against fraud like document forgery. The implementation also addresses the upcoming April 2027 revision of the Act on Prevention of Transfer of Criminal Proceeds, strengthening JPKI by adding facial photography to prevent unauthorized use even if a third party has both the card and PIN.
