Epson Launches Two New Standard EcoTank Models for Home and Business Use

Epson Sales Co., Ltd. will launch two new EcoTank models, the EW-M678FT and EW-M638T, on July 17, 2025.

EcoTank models are popular among a wide range of customers, from home users to businesses, due to their low printing costs achieved by a built-in large ink tank and reduced ink replacement frequency. The new models maintain their low printing costs and compact size while offering improved printing speed and durability. Furthermore, usability has been significantly enhanced with a redesigned ink tank, the addition of an indicator LED, an automatic output tray opening function, and a window to check paper levels.

Improved printing speed and durability to support business use

By adopting a belt drive system, paper transport speed has been improved, leading to faster printing speeds. The printers can print at speeds of approximately 18.0 ipm for A4 monochrome documents and 9.0 ipm for A4 color documents (Note 1). Additionally, durability has been doubled from 50,000 pages to 100,000 pages (Note 2). This high durability supports business use, ensuring long and reliable operation.

Redesigned ink tank for smoother ink refilling

The front ink tank is independent, allowing for easy ink refilling from the front without lifting the scanner lid.

Enhanced convenience (Indicator LED, Automatic Output Tray Opening, Paper Remaining Window)

An "Indicator LED" is now located on the front of the unit, allowing users to see the printer's status at a glance. Furthermore, the "Automatic Output Tray Opening" function, which automatically opens the output tray during printing, eliminates the need for manual extension. The inclusion of a "Paper Remaining Window" also makes it easy to check the paper level in the cassette from the outside.
