Euglena Begins Supply of Next-Generation Biodiesel 'Susteo' for GREEN×EXPO 2027 Construction Sites

Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Mitsuru Izumo) is pleased to announce the supply of next-generation biodiesel fuels, 'Susteo 100' and 'Susteo 51', for construction machinery used in the construction of the 2027 International Horticultural Expo (GREEN×EXPO 2027). In the construction sector, while the importance of reducing CO2 emissions during the construction phase is increasing, there are areas where electric construction machinery alone cannot meet requirements due to constraints such as operating time, output, and site conditions. To address these challenges, decarbonization solutions based on liquid fuels are attracting attention as realistic and immediate options. This initiative realizes decarbonization during the construction phase by utilizing next-generation biodiesel fuel. Euglena will supply 'Susteo 100' and 'Susteo 51' for construction machinery used by Taisei Corporation (Headquarters: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President: Yoshiro Aikawa) in the construction of 'TAISEI GREEN TERRACE (tentative name)'. This case serves as an example of a solution with feasibility and reproducibility for the challenge of decarbonizing liquid fuels during the construction phase. Furthermore, it is positioned as a scheme that can be expanded to other construction projects and large-scale event-related construction work that require similar decarbonization requirements, and further expansion of adoption cases is expected in the future.
