Factory Japan Group Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Hideki Haruna; hereinafter referred to as Factory Japan), which operates the chiropractic and pelvic salon "Karada Factory" and other services, will cooperate as an institution for providing chiropractic adjustments in a joint research project initiated by Intestinal Immunity Research Institute Inc. and NEC Solution Innovators, Ltd. The objective of this research is to explore whether changes in health status before and after chiropractic adjustments can be visualized using multiple health-related indicators.

In this research, quantitative analysis of changes observed before and after chiropractic adjustments will be conducted through subjective questionnaires, measurement of salivary components, body temperature, and other metrics. Based on the acquired data, the potential for utilizing these as reference indicators for understanding changes related to health status will be examined.

[Background and Challenges]

In recent years, with the diversification of lifestyles and increased health consciousness, interest in physical and mental condition care has grown significantly. Among these, body care services, including chiropractic, are widely used as accessible means to live a comfortable daily life.

However, the accumulation of quantitative data from general users regarding subjective sensations and physical condition changes observed before and after these treatments has been insufficient, necessitating further objective exploration and research. This is a challenge faced not only by our company but also by the entire chiropractic and body care industry, and indeed the broader healthcare market.

Amidst this situation, a joint research project has been launched by the synergistic strengths of three entities: the Intestinal Immunity Research Institute, with its expertise in biological indicator research; NEC Solution Innovators, with its advanced sensing technologies and data acquisition/analysis platforms; and Factory Japan Group, with its operational experience across over 300 salons domestically and internationally. While our role is that of a cooperating institution providing adjustments, we view this as a unique opportunity to accumulate objective data for addressing the challenges of the industry and the healthcare market, and have therefore decided to participate in this joint research.
