The Japan Financial Education Support Organization (headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Co-Representative Directors: Risa Hirai and Nana Abe, hereinafter "the organization") will host the high school financial education workshop "Path to FES Contest" on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at the Chiba City Science Museum's Qiball (Kibōru) Atrium.

Concurrently, a new open-space community event titled "MONEY STUDIO in Qiball" will be held at the same venue.

4th "Path to FES Contest" Workshop in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture

Aligned with the Qiball Atrium's mission of creating vibrancy and promoting community interaction, this initiative aims to expand financial education beyond classrooms into accessible, community-based learning experiences available to all.

Venue: Chiba City Science Museum Qiball (Kibōru) Atrium

Event: August 5 (Wed) – Special Program "Money Studio in Kibōru" as part of the Path to FES Contest

Previously, the FES Contest has run workshops where high school students learn about finance and create educational videos for elementary school children. This time, alongside that effort, a spin-off community event will connect individual citizens' "money questions" to high school students' learning and video production, evolving financial education into a cross-generational co-creation initiative.

Citizens' Financial Questions Become Art

At MONEY STUDIO, from 10:00 to 16:00, participants will create a collective artwork titled "Everyone's Money Questions Art."

Visitors can freely write down their financial uncertainties, curiosities, or inquiries—such as "What is investing?", "Why do we have to pay taxes?", "Why do prices rise?", or "Is cashless really safe?"—on colorful cards and post them on a central display board.

These individual, heartfelt questions will accumulate into a large-scale collaborative art piece.

The goal is not merely to create art, but to gather authentic financial questions from the public—the core feature of this project.

The resulting artwork, co-created by all participants, serves not only as a collective creation but also as a "compass for learning" that reflects society's current needs in financial education.

High School Creators Respond to Public Questions via Video

On the same day, from 14:00 to 16:30, the high school workshop "Path to FES Contest in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture" will be held at the Qiball (Kibōru) Atrium.

The FES Contest is a nationwide competition where high school students create and present one-minute financial education videos that are easy for elementary students to understand, based on what they've learned and experienced about money.

Currently, the organization is accepting video submissions from high school students.

Details and submission guidelines for the FES Contest are available at the official website.

During the workshop, high school students will learn about the "Eight Powers of Money" (spend, earn, pay, save, prepare, give, borrow, grow) with support from certified instructors and university student organizers, and create short financial education videos.

The artwork created at MONEY STUDIO will be shared with the high school creators at the venue. Students will discuss the public's financial questions and use them as inspiration for their video content.

Cross-Generational Learning Cycle

Citizens pose questions, high school students develop answers, and elementary students learn through videos.

This event represents a new approach to financial education—moving beyond one-way teaching to a shared, community-driven learning experience.

For high school students, creating videos based on real public input enables them to produce content that resonates more deeply with diverse audiences.

For participants, seeing their personal questions transformed into videos encourages them to view financial matters as personally relevant.

One person's question becomes another's learning, sparking further curiosity. This event aims to be the first step in that virtuous cycle.

Experience the Eight Powers of Money at "MONEY STUDIO"

On-site, an experiential booth called "MONEY STUDIO" will be set up, themed around the "Eight Powers of Money"—the core concept of the FES Contest:

Spend, Earn, Pay, Save

Prepare, Give, Borrow, Grow

Participants can explore the venue, collect stamps at different stations, and enter a prize draw upon collecting all stamps.

Designed with a game-like approach, the activity allows natural, enjoyable learning about financial behaviors.

A New Model for Nationwide Financial Education

This event leverages the openness of public spaces to transform financial education from something people actively seek in classrooms into an experience they encounter spontaneously in public life.

The organization aims to use this event as a model case, promoting similar events in public and commercial spaces across Japan in the future.
