Dorita Takido and Hiromi Okuda to Speak at TEDxMarunouchi on Saturday, May 9th

The FeedForward Association (502 Sydney Building, 5-17-2 Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kazuyoshi Kuno) announces that artist and University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies doctoral student Dorita Takido, and entrepreneur and startup ecosystem builder Hiromi Okuda, will be speaking at TEDxMarunouchi (Licensee: Kazuyoshi Kuno), to be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, which the association helps operate.

Under the TED philosophy of 'Ideas Worth Spreading', TEDxMarunouchi is an event that creates a space where diverse ideas crossing fields and positions intersect, originating from Marunouchi, the center of Japan.

The two speakers this time are practitioners who have opened up different frontiers: an artist who continues to question the boundaries between technology and life, and an entrepreneur who has linked IT with regional and social issues. The questions and experiments they have accumulated deeply resonate with the TEDxMarunouchi theme, 'Life is Beautiful — Discover.'

Dorita Takido combines different functions and senses, running technology in parallel to attempt to create experiences that shake up existing perceptions and build new relationships between humans and living organisms.

At the University of Tokyo, she creates works aiming to reorganize natural cycles by returning bio-power generation, such as microbial power generation, to plants. Since July 2025, at 'Common Nexus', a co-creation space operated by the Tokai National Higher Education and Research System, a new exhibition allowing visitors to experience sounds in the soil through collaboration between artists and researchers has begun.

Major awards include Ars Electronica Honorary Mentions 2017, STARTS PRIZE Nomination 2017, and the 18th Japan Media Arts Festival Entertainment Division New Face Award.
