Kobe Tourism Bureau operates 'Kobe no Tobira,' a platform for local tourism programs. The 'Hakogi-ke Jutaku Shurei' (common name: Hakogi Sennnen-ka), an Important Cultural Property (Building) in Kita Ward, is scheduled to be designated a National Treasure, the first folk house in Japan to receive this honor. If the 'Hakogi-ke Jutaku Shurei' is designated a National Treasure, it will be the second National Treasure building in Kobe City, following the Hondo of Taisan-ji Temple. To commemorate this, a half-day bus tour has been launched, visiting 'Hakogi Sennnen-ka,' the National Treasure 'Taisan-ji Hondo,' and 'Taisan-ji Coffee Roastery,' a specialty coffee shop located on the approach to Taisan-ji Temple.

<Hakogi Sennnen-ka>
This is the main residence of the Hakogi family, who are said to have been local rulers governing Yamada-sho. Built around the 14th century, it is the oldest existing folk house in Japan. A representative from the Kobe City Cultural Properties Division will accompany this tour to explain the process of its National Treasure designation and its architectural features. Furthermore, the tour will introduce its charm, including the adjacent detached residence, which is also an Important Cultural Property.
<Taisan-ji Temple>
The Hondo of Taisan-ji Temple is highly acclaimed as an example of eclectic architecture, incorporating both Japanese and Chinese styles. It was designated a National Treasure in 1955. In addition to viewing the Hondo, this tour will offer a special private viewing of the interiors of the 'Rakan-do' and 'Amida-do,' which are normally not open to the public.
<Taisan-ji Coffee Roastery>
Using their accumulated experience and knowledge, the roastery roasts the finest coffee beans, cultivated by the best producers, in a natural environment, only when needed and in the required quantities.
