Finnair celebrated the 20th anniversary of its Nagoya-Helsinki route at Chubu Centrair International Airport on June 3, 2026. The ceremony was attended by Centrair President Rikiya Kabohashi, local officials, and the character Moomin, with the arriving flight welcomed by a water salute. Currently, Finnair operates four weekly flights (Mon, Wed, Fri, Sun) using AY80 (departs Nagoya at 22:50, arrives Helsinki at 5:55 next day) and AY79 (departs Helsinki at 0:45, arrives Nagoya at 19:35), which is Centrair's only direct European route. In summer 2026, Finnair is expanding its network by adding 12 new European destinations, connecting to over 100 cities globally. Established in 1923, Finnair is a oneworld alliance member listed on Nasdaq Helsinki. It aims for net-zero emissions by 2050 and operates a joint business with JAL, British Airways, and Iberia.
