Flight Solutions Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Keiichiro Katayama; hereinafter “the Company”) will provide verification functionality for the student ID platform promoted by FeliCa Networks Co., Ltd.*1 (Headquarters: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tetsuro Akaida; hereinafter “FeliCa Networks”) through its identity verification solution 'myVerifist (My Verifist)'.

Background

In recent years, the adoption of digital student IDs has been expanding alongside the advancement of university digital transformation (DX). Digital student IDs are expected not only to digitize paper and card-based student IDs but also to serve as digital IDs usable across various services beyond university boundaries. However, standardization of verification methods and data formats remains a critical challenge to ensure that digital student IDs can be safely and reliably used by everyone.

Initiative

To address these challenges, the Company will integrate its 'myVerifist' solution with FeliCa Networks' student ID platform, which adopts the international standard mdoc*2 and aims to build an ecosystem through co-creation with diverse partners. This integration will provide verification functionality for digital student IDs, supporting secure and trustworthy identity authentication.

By utilizing myVerifist, it becomes possible to verify the authenticity of digital student IDs and conduct secure, reliable identity verification both in-person and remotely (online). Anticipated use cases include:

- Identity verification for administrative procedures and facility access within universities - Identity verification involving home university affiliation in inter-university collaborations - Strict identity verification for research facility access applications - Verification of student status for private services such as student discounts

Thus, digital student IDs are expected to extend beyond university-issued credentials and serve as digital IDs usable across institutional and service boundaries, with expanding application areas.
