Foval Corporation (headquartered in Shibuya, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shosuke Nakajima; hereinafter "Foval") has been entrusted by Satsuma-Sendai City, Kagoshima Prefecture, with the "Small and Medium Enterprise DX Support Project" for fiscal year 2026 (Reiwa 8) (hereinafter "the Project"). Through this project, Foval will support the digital transformation (DX) of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Satsuma-Sendai City.
Background and Objectives of the Project
Since fiscal year 2024 (Reiwa 6), Foval and Satsuma-Sendai City have collaborated on initiatives aimed at promoting DX (digital transformation) among local SMEs. Last year, the project provided tailored roadmaps for six participating companies, delivering continuous, hands-on support—from visualizing business workflows to implementing IT tools, designing operations, and measuring outcomes.
In Satsuma-Sendai City, where population decline and aging are advancing, ensuring sustainable business operations for local enterprises remains a significant challenge. Against this backdrop, this project—conducted through collaboration between the public and private sectors—aims to enhance productivity and improve operational efficiency via DX, serving as a key initiative toward revitalizing the local economy.
The project will identify each company's management challenges, make them visible, and provide end-to-end support through the adoption of digital tools. Furthermore, by widely disseminating the results of these initiatives within the city, the project aims to promote awareness and adoption of DX across the region.
