The Canal City Hakata Washington Hotel, which opened in 1996, will celebrate its 30th anniversary this April. To commemorate this milestone, aiming to provide guests with a comfortable facility, the entire hotel will temporarily close from April 2026 to August 2026 for renovations of guest rooms and the lobby, with sequential openings starting September 1, 2026 (Tuesday). This renovation will incorporate the theme of "Urban Theater," the concept of the complex facility "Canal City Hakata" where the hotel is located, by integrating five motifs scattered within the facility: "Water," "Canyon," "Green," "Sun," and "Star." Additionally, self check-in/check-out machines that automate processes such as guest card entry and payment, and a dedicated self-cloakroom for guests will be introduced. The elevators will provide secure access to guest room floors using card keys, preventing entry by unauthorized persons and ensuring a safe stay.
