Furuno Electric Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Nishinomiya City, Hyogo Prefecture, President and CEO: Yukio Furuno, hereinafter "the Company") will exhibit for the first time at the "JANOG58 Meeting" to be held from July 15 (Wed) to 17 (Fri), 2026, at the Ehime Prefectural Culture Hall in Ehime Prefecture.

JANOG is a technical community aimed at discussing, examining, and sharing information on technical matters and network operations on the internet. This JANOG58 Meeting will be held under the theme of "Maturation of Technology and Succession to the Next Generation." In recent years, the importance of high-precision time synchronization has been increasing in various communication fields such as 5G / O-RAN, mobile backhaul, metro networks, and data centers. At our booth, we will showcase our GNSS*1 receiver product lineup, used for accurate time synchronization in communication networks, with a focus on three themes: "Embedded," "Pluggable," and "Solution Ecosystem." Additionally, we will set up a demo rack combined with major network equipment, allowing visitors to experience how our GNSS receivers are utilized in actual network environments.

Exhibition Lineup

We will propose GNSS receivers for time synchronization based on three themes tailored to customer system configurations and operational policies.

Theme

Overview

Main Applications

Embedded

GNSS receivers designed to be embedded within equipment.

Integrated into devices by equipment manufacturers to supply high-precision time information to base station equipment, time synchronization devices, etc.

Pluggable

GNSS receivers that can be installed in the slots of existing equipment, such as M.2 or PCI Express.

Installed in server or network equipment slots to supply reference signals per second and date/time information to the host equipment.

Solution Ecosystem

A range of products from our partner companies that incorporate our receivers.

Utilized for time synchronization applications in mobile backhaul, metro networks, data centers, etc.

Highlights of the Booth

We will exhibit actual GNSS antennas for time synchronization, embodying the technology cultivated in the marine field, which is the root of our company. In addition, we will provide a hands-on demo environment showcasing our product lineup based on the three themes, combined with customer equipment. The demo rack will allow visitors to see how time information acquired from GNSS receivers is supplied to network equipment in a configuration close to actual operation. Furthermore, panels will introduce use cases in network operations, such as time synchronization via PTP*2 and traffic monitoring.

Main Exhibition Contents

Live demonstrations of all themes: Embedded / Pluggable / Solution Ecosystem

Demo rack in cooperation with major network equipment

Display of actual GNSS antennas for time synchronization

Introduction of multi-layered defense technologies, including jamming/spoofing countermeasures

Technical explanations and individual consultations by our engineers

Example of Pluggable Product *All are reference exhibits

M.2 PCI Express

Since our founding, Furuno Electric has provided equipment that operates without interruption or error even in harsh environments such as unstable communication, vibration, salt damage, and high humidity, including world-firsts like fish finders, marine radar, GNSS navigation equipment, and sonar systems. Through this, we have cultivated not just GNSS reception technology, but technology that delivers accurate position and time information without interruption even in severe conditions. We are now deploying this technology to land-based network infrastructure.

We offer the reliability honed at sea to network operators and data center operators, with improved reception stability through support for multiple satellites (GPS, Galileo, QZSS) and multiple frequencies, holdover*3 performance that maintains time output even when GNSS signals are interrupted, and resistance to jamming and spoofing*4.

*1 GNSS: Global Navigation Satellite System (a general term for satellite positioning systems including GPS) *2 PTP: Precision Time Protocol (high-precision time synchronization protocol) *3 Holdover: A function that maintains time using an internal oscillator even when GNSS signals cannot be received *4 Jamming/Spoofing: Interference by radio wave jamming or false signals to disrupt positioning/disturb positioning and time
