Background of Wireless Network Implementation

Iris Oyama Co., Ltd. began upgrading its network infrastructure in 2022. However, increasing employee numbers and expanded use of web conferencing led to visible issues such as "audio and video interruptions during meetings" and "difficulty connecting to Wi-Fi." Additionally, since wireless LAN access points (hereinafter "APs") were individually operated across different sites, management and maintenance operations became significantly burdensome.

To address these challenges, the company introduced FURUNO SYSTEMS' wireless LAN access points "ACERA" and the wireless network management system "UNIFAS" in the summer of the same year. This enabled a stable communication environment even under high load, successfully establishing a comfortable and reliable office network. In metropolitan areas with high employee density, up to 340 devices may connect simultaneously on a single floor, causing network instability during high-density web conferences and simultaneous connections.

Since implementing "ACERA" and "UNIFAS," the company has maintained consistently stable communication even during web conferences. Overall operation and management are handled by iFIND Co., Ltd., which manages IT systems for the entire Iris Group.

To resolve these issues, the company introduced the wireless network management system "UNIFAS" for centralized control.

By utilizing the map function to set AP locations, radio signal conditions and operational statuses can now be centrally visualized and monitored from the management interface.

Furthermore, the sub-site function enables centralized management, allowing bulk configuration and firmware updates, thereby reducing management procedures.
