Futureshop Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kita-ku, Osaka; CEO: Yuko Hoshino; hereinafter 'Futureshop'), provider of the SaaS-based e-commerce platform 'futureshop', will host a paid workshop for e-commerce businesses titled 'One-Day Intensive Workshop: In-House Product Photography (Product Photography Edition)' in Tokyo on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
This workshop is a practical program designed to help businesses move beyond outsourcing and build internal capabilities for capturing high-quality product photos. In this first session in Tokyo (Product Photography Edition), participating companies will bring their own products and learn photography techniques through hands-on practice. A second session is scheduled to take place in Osaka on Friday, August 28, 2026.
Launched as part of Futureshop's ongoing support for e-commerce business growth
Futureshop has long supported e-commerce operators not only through its 'futureshop' platform but also via free support and consulting, as well as 361 seminars and study groups held annually (based on 2025 data from January to December).
In recent years, the e-commerce operating environment has become increasingly complex. While businesses leverage various tools and external partners, many face challenges such as insufficient internal knowledge accumulation and over-reliance on specific experts or outsourcing vendors. In this context, Futureshop has received growing requests related to product photography, such as 'We want to develop in-house photography skills' and 'We want to establish a sustainable internal photography system.'
To address these needs, Futureshop is launching the 'One-Day Intensive Workshop: In-House Product Photography,' a hands-on program enabling e-commerce businesses to learn photography techniques using their actual products.
Practical instruction by an internationally recognized photographer
The workshop will feature Chiyoko Yamaguchi, a professional photographer and photography instructor. Specializing in product photography, she has taught shooting techniques to approximately 30,000 people. In 2024, she received a Bronze award in the Food category of the Advertising section at 'PX3 - Prix de la Photographie, Paris' (Paris International Photography Awards).
During the workshop, participating companies will bring the products they actually sell to the venue and practice shooting on-site. Participants can learn directly from the instructor, receiving real-time feedback on lighting, composition, and techniques for showcasing product appeal.
Additionally, with a small class size limited to 10 companies per session, participants can receive specific, tailored advice based on their product category and individual store challenges.
