GF CAPITAL(VIETNAM)CO.,LTD., a group company of G-FACTORY INC., has opened the sweets cafe "TUMUGI" on July 8, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam, with store opening support.
"TUMUGI" is a sweets cafe offering rich and smooth soft-serve ice cream from Hokkaido, along with drinks and pancakes made with Japanese ingredients such as matcha and hojicha.
Overseas expansion presents numerous challenges different from domestic store openings, including local marketing, legal systems, company establishment, property selection, human resource recruitment, logistics, construction, and language support. For this opening, our company provided comprehensive support for each process required for entering Vietnam, including accompanying and attending local site inspections, property searching, market research, establishing a local subsidiary, securing logistics routes, import/export procedures, selecting store construction contractors, recruiting staff, and preparing for the opening.
Our group leverages the practical know-how cultivated through the overseas expansion of our own brands and our network of local subsidiaries to support overseas expansion from start to opening. Through the opening of "TUMUGI," we will continue to support the overseas expansion of Japanese food and beverage brands.
Supporting Overseas Openings as a Partner Until Launch
With the slogan "Turning Dreams into Reality! Bringing Japanese Cuisine to the World!", our company has developed multiple food and beverage brands both domestically and internationally, including the fast-food eel restaurant "Nadai Untoto," yakitori, Japanese cuisine, and sushi.
We operate restaurants and support the overseas expansion of food and beverage companies in countries such as Vietnam, Singapore, and Thailand, building a practical support system that utilizes our strength of having local subsidiaries.
Many Japanese companies are interested in overseas expansion but face challenges such as not knowing where to start, difficulty finding reliable partners locally, and concerns about company establishment, property searching, human resource recruitment, and logistics.
Our group utilizes the know-how gained from on-site restaurant operations and the networks of our local subsidiaries in each country to provide one-stop support for the practical aspects of overseas expansion. For the "TUMUGI" opening, we accompanied the company through each stage leading up to the opening to ensure a smooth business launch in Vietnam.
Hokkaido Soft-Serve Ice Cream Cafe "TUMUGI" Opens in Ho Chi Minh
"TUMUGI," which opened on July 8, 2026, is a sweets cafe offering soft-serve ice cream from Hokkaido, along with drinks and pancakes made with Japanese ingredients like matcha and hojicha. Aiming to create products that are approachable for Vietnamese customers, we feature rich and smooth soft-serve ice cream and menus that utilize unique Japanese ingredients and flavors.
The Bàu Cát area, where the store is located, is an area with established local dining demand within Ho Chi Minh City. Unlike areas like Le Thanh Ton and Pham Ngu Lao, known as markets for Japanese residents, this area has fewer Japanese-quality dessert and cafe brands. Therefore, it was selected as the location with the potential to offer new value to local customers.
[Owner's Comment] Vietnam is a country with remarkable economic growth, and there is very high interest in new cultures and foreign brands, especially among the younger generation. Among these, trust and appreciation for Japanese food culture and Japanese brands are high, and many customers seek products of Japanese quality. We aim not just to sell products, but to deliver the Japanese spirit of "omotenashi" (hospitality) and "commitment to quality" to the people of Vietnam.
Furthermore, a major reason for deciding to open here is our desire to grow with young Vietnamese staff and contribute to the local community through job creation and human resource development. While Le Thanh Ton and Pham Ngu Lao are very attractive markets for Japanese residents, competition is fierce, and there are many establishments offering Japanese food.
On the other hand, the Bàu Cát area has fewer Japanese-quality dessert and cafe brands, and we felt there was potential to offer new value to local customers. Through TUMUGI, we will deliver Japanese quality and hospitality to our customers in Vietnam.
