The Japan Telework Association (hereinafter referred to as "Japan Telework Association") and the Local Government DX Promotion Council (hereinafter referred to as "GDX") have agreed to mutually join each other's organizations as of June 30, 2026. This collaboration will connect the expertise in "telework" and "work style DX" with the network for promoting local government DX (Digital Transformation). By combining the strengths of both associations, we aim to accelerate work style reform for municipal employees and foster regional revitalization and the creation of related populations, starting with telework.

The Japan Telework Association's mission is to widely promote and raise awareness of "telework," a flexible work style that is not bound by location or time, utilizing ICT (Information and Communications Technology). The association aims to bring vitality and leisure to individuals, and contribute to the sustainable development of a harmonious Japanese society through the revitalization of companies and regions. With over 400 companies and organizations as members, the association engages in research, training, and case study dissemination for work style DX, as well as undertaking commissioned projects for central government ministries and local governments.

GDX acts as a bridge between local governments and businesses, promoting the resolution of regional issues and regional revitalization through the utilization of digital technology. This is achieved through the publication of its newsletter "Local Government DX Guide," various surveys and seminars, and support for public-private matching.

Both associations share the important mission of serving as a "hub between government and the private sector," and this mutual membership embodies that philosophy. Telework and work style DX are expected to have multifaceted effects that contribute to the revitalization of entire regions, not only by reforming the work styles and improving the operational efficiency of municipal employees themselves, but also by utilizing third workplaces and workations, and by creating related populations and promoting migration from urban to rural areas.

Moving forward, both associations will collaborate on joint research and studies targeting municipalities and companies, hold joint seminars and training sessions, and cover and disseminate advanced case studies, leveraging their respective member networks. Through the fusion of telework, work style DX, and local government DX, we will create new value and contribute to the realization of richer work styles for everyone working in the regions.
