Tokyo Metropolitan Government's 'GEMStartup TOKYO' FY2026-27: Call for Participants for 'New Business Creation Platform' and 'Commercialization Program'!

Ignition Point Inc. has begun accepting applications for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government's 'New Business Discovery Project (GEMStartup TOKYO)' for FY2026-27, for which the company serves as the secretariat. GEMStartup TOKYO is a project by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government aimed at discovering excellent ideas, talent, and technical seeds dormant within large corporations and other private enterprises. The project consists of three programs: the 'New Business Creation Platform,' aimed at passing initial internal stage gates; the 'Commercialization Program,' aimed at carve-outs and commercialization; and the 'Collaboration Model,' aimed at developing and strengthening the foundation for new business creation. Through lectures, workshops, and mentoring by entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and professionals in various fields, the project supports innovation within large corporations. The application periods are: 'New Business Creation Platform' from May 28 (Thu) to July 31 (Fri), 2026, and 'Commercialization Program' from May 28 (Thu) to July 17 (Fri), 2026. Eligibility includes individuals belonging to large corporations or other private enterprises who have the ambition to start a business or create new businesses in Tokyo utilizing their company's resources.
