Giftee, a company engaged in the e-gift platform business, announced that its corporate and municipal service ‘giftee for Business’ has been adopted for the ‘Yokohama Life Support Coupon’ (Yokohama City Food and Daily Necessities Price Hike Response Benefit Program), implemented by Yokohama City utilizing the Japanese Cabinet Office’s ‘Local Revitalization Grant for Inflation Relief.’
For this program, giftee is providing ‘giftee Box Select,’ a customized version of its flagship product, ‘giftee Box®.’ The project is being executed under contract from JP Media Direct Co., Ltd., which was commissioned by Yokohama City, with notifications reaching target households sequentially since late April 2026.
The ‘Yokohama Life Support Coupon’ provides 5,000 JPY worth of electronic coupons or gift certificates to approximately 3.25 million citizens aged 19 and older. Recipients access a dedicated portal via a QR code on an invitation postcard to authenticate themselves and select their preferred benefit format. Those who choose the ‘electronic coupon’ receive ‘giftee Box Select,’ which can be exchanged for one of 28 types of digital gifts, including smartphone payment points, dining, clothing, and online stores, tailored to the recipient's needs.
Giftee has provided solutions for numerous municipal life support programs across Japan, including childcare and parenting assistance. Including the newly added Yokohama City, this solution has now been adopted by 14 municipalities nationwide for projects utilizing the ‘Local Revitalization Grant.’
