Kikokushijo Academy (KA) launched an after-school English program at Salesian International School Elementary in spring 2026.

This program is an initiative to provide KA's curriculum, developed through its experience in returnee and bilingual education, within the school premises. It caters to both the International Class, which learns in English, and the Seibi Class, which learns primarily in Japanese, fostering the 'ability to think, read, write, and express in English' by utilizing after-school hours.

Authentic English Learning After School. An On-Campus Program with No Transportation Needed.

A key feature of this program is that KA instructors provide in-person classes and self-study support within the school. Students can engage in English learning as an extension of their school life without having to travel to external schools after classes.

For parents, it provides an environment where their children can use after-school time for serious English study, while reducing the burden of transportation to cram schools or classrooms.

Two Learning Paths Tailored to Learning Environment and English Proficiency

Early Years Program (Grade 1)

For Grade 1 students in the International Class

Students learn Reading, Writing, and Speaking in a balanced manner, developing the foundational skills to think and express themselves in English. In addition to weekly classes, native instructors supervise after-school self-study time, supporting homework and English learning. Students will naturally acquire the habit of using English as an extension of their school life.

Rising Stars Program (Level 1)

For Grade 1-3 students in the Seibi Class

Students learn the fundamentals of phonics, vocabulary, reading, and writing in a balanced way, gradually developing their English communication skills. In addition to group lessons, weekly one-on-one online tutoring provides detailed follow-up on their learning progress. Continuous support is provided, tailored to each student's English proficiency.

*Students may be guided to a different class depending on their English proficiency and learning situation.

Online Learning Environment to Experience English at Home

In addition to the on-campus program, combining the online learning system 'KA Connect' and the online live class 'KA Plus!' ensures opportunities to be exposed to English at home.
