Global Brain Corporation and Shinhan Venture Investment Co., Ltd. have made a follow-on investment in Tokenz, Inc. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; founded March 2024) through their jointly operated fund, the Shinhan-GB FutureFlow Investment Limited Partnership (SHGB). This follows an initial investment announced in March 2025. Tokenz provides a global Merchant of Record (MoR) platform for digital content businesses, enabling access to over 200 payment methods (as of June 2026), automated international tax compliance, and significant platform fee reduction. The platform was launched against the backdrop of Japan's Smartphone Software Competition Promotion Act, fully enacted in December 2025. Tokenz's platform has been adopted for payments in Bushiroad's 'HUNTER x HUNTER NEN x SURVIVOR' and WonderPlanet's 'Clash Fever.' An MoR alliance has also been established with S8 Plus, Inc. (a joint venture of Game8 and SP.LINKS) to support out-of-app payment for the Game8 Store. Tokenz plans to use the new funds to strengthen hiring, organizational infrastructure, product development, and global expansion. Global Brain cited Tokenz's strong fintech capabilities, management team quality, and Asia-tailored product design as key investment rationale.
