GN Hearing Japan conducted a survey on 'Second Communities' among 300 seniors aged 60-75. The study reveals that enjoying conversations is the primary factor for continuing social activities (60.3%), surpassing physical health maintenance. While 17.3% worry about hearing loss hindering social interaction, 86.3% expressed a proactive willingness to address hearing issues to preserve their social connections. Professor Mitsunori Ishida of Waseda University noted that casual conversation acts as a vital lubricant for creating a sense of belonging in social spaces.
