Certified NPO Good Neighbors Japan (Headquarters: Ota City, Tokyo; Representative Director: Koizumi Satoshi, hereinafter "GNJP") announces a collaborative project with "Beve," a donation initiative launched by Major League Baseball player Murakami Shuho, to deliver vital food aid to people in need.

Donations collected through this project, along with a portion of proceeds from designated products, will support GNJP's domestic food bank program "Good Gohan" for single-parent households, as well as food assistance programs in impoverished, conflict-affected, and disaster-stricken regions overseas.

The Vision Behind Murakami Shuho's Donation Initiative "Beve"

Shuho Murakami, MLB Player, Chicago White Sox

"Beve" (pronounced "Bebe") is a donation initiative launched by MLB player Shuho Murakami (planning and operations: Kos. Kuma Co., Ltd.).

Murakami has long been engaged in social contribution activities, including donations to his hometown of Kumamoto Prefecture. Driven by a strong sense of responsibility and mission—believing that "because I am in a position to attract attention, I must lead by example"—he launched Beve.

Under the slogan "Wear your will. Shake the world.", Beve proposes a sustainable model where anyone can participate in social contribution without burden, simply by enjoying fashion. Following its first campaign in February 2026 supporting pediatric cancer patients, this second initiative partners with GNJP to expand food assistance domestically and internationally. The project will sell original T-shirts featuring a QR code linking to the donation page, with a portion of sales and collected donations directed toward food support efforts.

Why Food Support? Escalating Hardship and Food Crises at Home and Abroad

Currently, Japan's relative poverty rate among single-parent households stands at 44.5% (FY2021 National Survey on Single-Parent Households), one of the highest among developed nations. Combined with recent inflation, many families face daily anxiety over securing adequate meals. This economic hardship not only affects nutrition but also contributes to experiential inequality and social isolation among children.

Meanwhile, around the world, countless children living in chronic poverty lack access to balanced and sufficient nutrition. In addition, due to recent wars, conflicts, and large-scale natural disasters, the number of people forced from their homes and struggling to secure even a single day's meal has surged dramatically.

GNJP believes that eating is not merely about satisfying hunger, but forms the very foundation for people to live healthily, learn, grow, and build their futures. For this reason, we continue to provide food-based support both in Japan and abroad.

How Donations Will Be Used

A portion of proceeds and donations from this project will support the following domestic and international food assistance programs implemented by GNJP.

[Domestic] Food Support Program for Single-Parent Households "Good Gohan"

This program provides free monthly deliveries of food-filled baskets to economically disadvantaged single-parent households in Japan. Currently, approximately 5,000 households are supported monthly across around 30 locations in the Greater Tokyo Area, Kansai region, and Kyushu. Alongside food, the program delivers reassurance and connection through face-to-face distribution.

[Overseas] Emergency Food Aid, School Meal Support, and Nutritional Improvement Programs

From rapid food distribution during emergencies such as conflicts and disasters, to nutritional improvement programs supporting healthy child development in chronically impoverished areas, we deliver tailored, needs-based support according to local circumstances.

Message from Satoshi Koizumi, Representative Director, Good Neighbors Japan

Social issues cannot be solved easily. However, we believe that when people who share the same vision connect, they can create significant change in society.

In Japan, there are families who cannot secure sufficient daily meals; around the world, people affected by conflict and disaster struggle to obtain even a single day's food. We have continued providing food-based support to such individuals, both domestically and internationally, by walking alongside them.

We are deeply encouraged that through this collaboration with "Beve," initiated by Shuho Murakami with heartfelt concern for society, the circle of support will expand and many people's goodwill can be channeled into food assistance. For a future filled with children's smiles, we sincerely ask for your support.
