Announcement of Start of Demonstration Experiment for Station-Autonomous Taxi Integration: Establishment of App-Exclusive Taxi Stand at JR Shin-Osaka Station

West Japan Railway Company, JR West Rent-A-Car & Lease Co., Ltd., and GO Inc. are proceeding with studies aimed at realizing the smooth integration of future autonomous taxis with train stations.

As a first step, we are pleased to announce the start of a demonstration experiment to establish an app-exclusive taxi stand at JR Shin-Osaka Station, the first at a railway station in Western Japan, with the objective of identifying operational challenges. By setting up an app-exclusive taxi stand on the 1st floor of JR Shin-Osaka Station, customers will be able to order taxis smoothly through the app.

| Overview of the Demonstration

Details: An app-exclusive taxi stand for the 'GO' taxi app will be set up on the 1st floor of JR Shin-Osaka Station.

Demonstration Period: From 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, until Friday, July 31, 2026 (planned).

Location: In front of the Ekiren Car Rental office on the 1st floor of JR Shin-Osaka Station (directions described later).

How to Use: After downloading the 'GO' taxi app, select the Shin-Osaka Station area when ordering. The 1st-floor app-exclusive stand will be set as the pick-up location, allowing you to place an order.

| Aim of This Demonstration

When autonomous taxis are eventually operated, it is crucial to develop a safe and smooth boarding/alighting environment at stations, where taxi demand is high and congestion is likely to occur. In this demonstration experiment, as a first step, we will establish a new app-exclusive taxi stand to confirm safety and verify operational challenges.

Based on the knowledge gained from this demonstration experiment, we will work towards the concrete realization of integrating future autonomous taxis with train stations.

1. After exiting the Shin-Osaka Station South Exit ticket gate (3rd floor), proceed straight ahead.

2. Take the stairs or escalator on your right down to the 2nd floor.

3. After descending to the 2nd floor, take the stairs or escalator on your left down to the 1st floor.

4. After descending to the 1st floor, proceed straight ahead to your right, and you will arrive at the app-exclusive taxi stand in front of the Ekiren Car Rental office.
