Thank you for your continued support of Seahorses Mikawa.
We are pleased to announce the launch of the 'Seahorses Mikawa Rice' project, a collaborative effort involving JA Nishimikawa, local producers, Nishio City, and local elementary schools.
This initiative expands upon the 'Rice Farming Experience Class' for fifth-grade students that JA Nishimikawa has been conducting since 2008. It marks the second regional contribution activity with JA Nishimikawa, following the 'Nishida Cucumber' project. By combining agriculture, education, and sports, we plan to donate the harvested rice to children's cafeterias.
On Wednesday, May 27, during the experience class, player #27 Kosuke Ishii joined children in the rice paddies, learning about the importance of local agriculture and food through hands-on work.
Moving forward, through the Seahorses Mikawa sustainability project 'Be With,' we will continue to promote the values we cherish: 'community building,' 'human development,' and 'friendship building,' to foster local revitalization.
Comments from #27 Kosuke Ishii: 'This was my first rice planting experience since elementary school, and it was great to interact with local elementary students through this activity. It was a wonderful opportunity to learn again how the rice we eat is grown. I look forward to participating again to ensure the rice from the 'Seahorses Mikawa Rice' project is packed with energy for everyone!'
