Nakajo, Nagano City: "Yakimochi-ya," a Thatched-Roof Old House Inn, Launches Summer Lunch Menu "Summer Satoyama Steamed Set Meal" from June 16th

Eternal Story Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, Representative Director: Tatsuya Murakami), part of the Goke Co., Ltd. Group, which operates "Yakimochi-ya" (5286-1 Nakajo Kusaka, Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture), will begin offering a new menu, "Summer Satoyama Steamed Set Meal," on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, allowing guests to enjoy the blessings of the satoyama in season through steaming.

This menu was born from the desire to "allow many people to easily experience the food culture and charm of the satoyama that have been passed down in the region." Through seasonal ingredients and local cuisine, guests can feel the unique food culture and the charm of the satoyama of this land.

This summer, please enjoy the leisurely flow of time amidst the nostalgic scenery of the satoyama.

Seasonal Steamed Dish

Seasonal vegetables and pork are carefully steamed to bring out their natural umami and sweetness.

This dish allows you to fully enjoy the ingredients' inherent deliciousness along with the gentle flavor unique to steaming. Mini versions of the homemade Oyaki, a specialty of our sister facility, Michi-no-Eki Nakajo, are served alongside.

You can enjoy a menu that allows you to casually experience the local food culture.

Hiyashi Obukko

We offer "Obukko," a local dish of the Nakajo district, in a summer-limited cold style. Chewy flat noodles are paired with tofu made from Nishiyama soybeans, a local favorite, and finished with a special soup made from sesame, soy milk, and Shinshu miso. You can also enjoy variations in flavor by adding our homemade spicy miso.

Homemade Yokan

For dessert, we offer homemade Yokan made with natural water from Mt. Mushikura.

It features a refreshing sweetness and a smooth texture, and can be enjoyed with fragrant kinako (roasted soybean flour) made from Nishiyama soybeans.

Traditional Irori Hearth Yakimochi-ya's Specialty "Hagaki Oyaki"

Located in the Nakajo district of northern Shinshu, nestled at the foot of Mt. Mushikura, said to be inhabited by gods, this inn allows you to enjoy the original Japanese landscape, having relocated and renovated a traditional private house built in the early Meiji era.

In the warm space surrounding a traditional irori hearth, you can experience the food and culture unique to the satoyama, such as the Nakajo district's local dish "Obukko" and the famous "Hagaki Oyaki."

Enjoy a relaxing time away from everyday life in a quiet environment surrounded by the nature of the four seasons.
