The Gold Ribbon Network, a public interest incorporated foundation, began accepting applications on June 1 for the 13th 'Habatake! Gold Ribbon Scholarship' (for spring 2027 enrollment), aimed at childhood cancer survivors pursuing higher education. This scholarship is a non-repayable grant designed to support childhood cancer survivors who face difficulties in pursuing their studies due to economic reasons, providing 40,000 yen per month until graduation. It targets high school seniors and graduates under 18 who were diagnosed with cancer, with approximately 25 students to be selected. About half of childhood cancer survivors suffer from late-term complications, making economic support a vital role in their future planning.
