The Kurate Store of Green Co-op Fukuoka (hereinafter "Green Co-op Fukuoka"), a member of Green Co-op Community (Headquarters: Hakata-ku, Fukuoka City; Representative Director: Yoko Hidaka; hereinafter "Green Co-op"), composed of 16 cooperatives primarily in western Japan, will reopen on July 18 (Saturday) following comprehensive facility upgrades and functional enhancements.

Renovation Opening Event

To commemorate the reopening, a three-day "Summer Festival" event will be held from July 18 (Saturday) to July 20 (Monday, national holiday). Throughout the event, visitors can enjoy various family-friendly activities, including candy scooping and goldfish scooping games, an open-air outlet market, product sampling and sales by Green Co-op manufacturers, and food stalls offering yakisoba and cotton candy.

About the Kurate Store

This renovation includes a complete overhaul of the prepared food kitchen, with new flooring, walls, fixtures, and cooking equipment. Additionally, the welfare goods store "Seikatsu Support & Care Shop Jiyu Jizai" has been relocated inside the store, creating a more convenient environment for customers to access both shopping and welfare services.

Furthermore, the space freed up by relocating the welfare shop will be utilized as a public community space where local residents can gather casually. The store plans to host local committee meetings, hearing aid and welfare consultation sessions, and various educational workshops, positioning itself as a hub for community interaction and mutual support.

Simultaneously, a new permanent "Fiber Recycling" program will be launched to promote textile resource circulation. The store will collect unused clothing from households, supporting local mutual aid through reuse and recycling, and expanding cross-border support by facilitating clothing use overseas.

Through this renovation, the store aims to become a more beloved local hub—not just for shopping, but as a place where people connect and where initiatives for welfare and the environment grow.

CO2 Emission Reduction at the Store

To reduce CO2 emissions from store operations, Green Co-op Kurate Store has replaced gas-powered cooking equipment with electric appliances. This change is expected to reduce annual CO2 emissions by approximately 11 tons.

Going forward, the organization will gradually replace cooking equipment in other stores with electric models to further advance CO2 reduction efforts.
