Chichinohi.jp, a specialized information media site focused on Father's Day, has announced its "Father's Day Gift Best-Seller Ranking: Summer Heat Management Edition."

In recent years, extreme heat has become the norm in Japan, raising awareness of heatstroke and UV protection. In the 2026 Father's Day gift market, functional gifts that prioritize health management are gaining prominence. Items such as parasols for men, cooling bedding, and portable cooling devices are attracting particular attention this year.

This year's ranking highlights three keywords: "sleeping cool," "blocking sunlight," and "portable cooling."

Of particular note is the men's parasol, which ranked third. The resistance to men using parasols has diminished year by year, and they have gained support as "practical items that one might not buy for oneself but would be happy to receive."

Furthermore, more than half of the top 10 items were cooling bedding or sleep-aid products. Father's Day is evolving from a mere occasion for gifts into an opportunity to convey the sentiment, "I want you to stay healthy."
