1,959 Submissions from 118 Countries/Regions: KADOKAWA WORLD MANGA CONTEST Results Announced; Winners Receive Serialization Support and Invitation to Japan Awards Ceremony

KADOKAWA Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takeshi Natsuno) has announced the results of its international manga contest, 'KADOKAWA WORLD MANGA CONTEST,' on the contest's official website.

A total of 11 works were awarded, including Gold Prizes for 'Cry or the witch will come' by Syo.Era (Vietnam) in the Manga category, and 'Cells Within the Body.' by Eli Lin (Taiwan) in the Wordless Manga category.

The contest, aimed at providing creative opportunities to creators worldwide and fostering new IP, attracted 1,959 submissions from 118 countries and regions, surpassing the scale of the previous 'Wordless Manga Contest' (1,126 submissions from 104 countries).

Following selections by KADOKAWA's manga editorial department, Gold, Silver, and Bronze prizes were awarded in both categories, along with five 'Encouragement Awards.' Winners will receive prize money and personalized support for serialization from KADOKAWA editors, primarily via online communication. Additionally, Gold, Silver, and Bronze winners will be invited to an awards ceremony in Japan. The six top-awarded works were made available for free in their entirety on KADOKAWA's manga portal site, 'Kadokomi,' starting Friday, May 29, at 11:00 AM.
