KADOKAWA Corporation will release the manga adaptation of the bestseller "Ima-doki no Shitai: Hoigakusha ga Mita Shiawase na Shikata" (Original: Hajime Nishio, Manga: Yuri Asahi) on various e-book stores starting May 30, 2026. According to the National Police Agency, the number of bodies handled by police is on the rise. This work is a realistic report from the forensic autopsy scene, depicting the truth behind various unexplained deaths such as drowning and sudden death. Forensic pathologist Dr. Nishio receives various bodies daily. From a young man who died of suffocation after being buried in sand, to an elderly woman with suspicious bruises, to the suicide of a diligent young man... The manga not only investigates the true cause of death but also deciphers the "story" of their lives from the traces left behind. Is it a cold reality or salvation that is seen from the autopsy room? It is a supreme documentary comic that illuminates "life" from the abyss of death. Episode 10 depicts the episode of a man in his 20s who died of suffocation after being buried in sand while swimming, revealing the cruel reality of how play can take a life through forensic knowledge. Author Hajime Nishio says, "This work is an opportunity to re-examine life through death." Through various "deaths" that are a microcosm of modern society, this work deeply questions readers about "how to live."
