Richie Hawtin and Fukushima Sake Brewery haccoba Collaborate to Unveil Original Sake "SPARK 26" at WOMB's 26th Anniversary on April 24

株式会社haccoba, a sake brewery founded in February 2021 in Minamisoma, Fukushima, has partnered with renowned techno artist and "Sake Samurai" Richie Hawtin. This collaboration resulted in "SPARK 26," a unique sparkling sake. The launch coincides with the 26th anniversary of WOMB, a prominent dance music club in Shibuya, Tokyo. "SPARK 26" will be introduced globally at the anniversary event on April 24, 2026. The sake is characterized by its refreshing and complex flavor, achieved by fermenting rice with distilled lees from naturadistill, a craft gin distillery in Fukushima. Specifically, lees from their seasonal "Ume Hanamikan Distilled Liquor" are used, imparting aromas of juniper berries, plum blossoms, mandarin oranges, and strawberries. This innovative brewing method aims to blend traditional sake techniques with modern influences, reflecting Hawtin's musical philosophy. The 500ml bottles will be available from April 2026 until sold out, exclusively at WOMB, IMADEYA stores (main store in Chiba), and Our Sake Club in Berlin, with no plans for online sales via haccoba's store. The WOMB 26TH ANNIVERSARY PARTY will take place on April 24, 2026, from 23:00 to 4:30, featuring Richie Hawtin and other DJs. haccoba, which also operates a brewery in Namie since July 2023, is known for its "free sake brewing" approach, modernizing traditional doburoku culture.
