Special Summer Vacation Event: Experience the Charm of the 1700 Series with Your Family!

Noseden Railway will host a special summer vacation event for children from 3rd to 9th grade, offering an experiential program to learn about the charm of the 1700 series trains.

Despite being over 60 years since its manufacture, the 1757 train set remains in active service. Participants will get to 'see' it with crew members, 'touch' the driving equipment, and 'feel' the depth of the vehicle, combining summer vacation memories with educational value.

Exclusive original educational materials for this event will also be provided to make learning about the 1700 series fun and engaging.

Event details are as follows:

August 22, 2026 (Saturday)

(2) Time

[Elementary School Session] 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM

[Junior High School Session] 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM

※ Event proceeds in light rain; canceled in severe weather

(3) Venue

Noseden Railway Hirano Depot (Meeting and dismissal at Hirano Station)

(4) Target Participants

[Elementary School Session] Grades 3–6

[Junior High School Session] Grades 7–9

(5) Capacity

20 children per session

(6) Program

Using the 1757 train set, participants will learn about the interior and exterior mechanisms, history, and differences from other train models.

- Cab viewing

- Explanation and hands-on experience with door operation and onboard announcements

- Close-up viewing of the train on the inspection line

- Q&A session with train crew

- Car washing experience

- Commemorative photo session

※ Commemorative photo badges will be made using photos taken with the 1757 train set.

(7) Participation Fee

- Children: 6,600 JPY (tax included)

※ Includes original educational materials, commemorative photo badge, and 1700 series souvenir

- Guardian: 2,200 JPY (tax included)

※ Guardian accompaniment is mandatory

※ Up to two guardians per child may attend

- Please wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Sandals or high heels are not permitted.

- The depot has steps and narrow passages; barrier-free access is limited for safety reasons.

- Participants will walk on tracks and potentially dirty areas. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

- The event may be changed or canceled at short notice due to natural disasters or train malfunctions. Please understand in advance.
