JR Hotel Clement Tokushima will introduce indigo-dyed shirts using the traditional craft 'Awa Indigo' as uniforms for front desk and accommodation staff, starting June 1, 2026, for the summer season. Indigo dyeing allows for long-term wear through periodic re-dyeing, enabling sustainable operations that contribute to waste reduction. Additionally, employees wear shirts they dyed themselves at the 'Ai no Yakata' in Aizumi Town, deepening their understanding of local culture. The hotel plans to continue deepening ties with the region through Awa Indigo and promoting the charm of Tokushima both domestically and internationally.
