The "Green Alliance," an SDGs partnership program led by Hanwha Japan Co., Ltd., has donated a solar power system (4.8kW capacity) and a storage battery (9.7kWh rated capacity) to the "Ikuta Ryokuchi East Gate Visitor Center" in Tama Ward, Kawasaki City. This donation is part of an initiative to introduce renewable energy to public facilities based on a partnership agreement with Kawasaki City, aiming to realize a decarbonized society with the theme of "Solar Power x Nature Conservation." The installation was carried out by Gouda Co., Ltd., a partner company of the Green Alliance. Ikuta Ryokuchi is a prominent urban green space in the Tokyo metropolitan area, designated as Kawasaki City's first urban planning green space in 1941. The annual power generation from this donation is approximately 5,600kWh, covering about 10% of the center's total power consumption. This is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 2.2 tons and electricity costs by about 160,000 yen annually. Furthermore, the battery will function as an emergency power source during disasters and power outages, contributing to regional disaster prevention and energy resilience. A donation ceremony was held on May 22, 2026, where environmental education materials were also provided.
