Emergency Support: Haruyama Offers Free Access to Subscription-Based Relaxation Space 'Hotto Hitoiki Station' in Kumamoto Amid Earthquake and Heatwave

Haruyama Shoji Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Okayama City, Okayama Prefecture; President and Chairman: Masashi Haruyama), a company dedicated to supporting the health of business professionals, is fully opening its 'Hotto Hitoiki Station (HHS)' lounges—normally subscription-based—at three Kumamoto-area stores (Kashima, Obayashi, and Chikami locations) free of charge, aiming for August 16, 2026.

Amid ongoing extreme heat, we are providing a comfortable, air-conditioned environment with cold beverages and wellness equipment, offering a safe and relaxing space for local residents to rest and recover.

Background and Purpose

Our mission is to become a store that is essential to the community by promoting "stylish and healthy living."

Following the earthquake on July 28, 2026, and amid consecutive days of severe heat, evacuation and recovery efforts in the disaster-stricken areas have become prolonged, increasing physical and mental strain. In response, we have decided to temporarily open our three Kumamoto 'Hotto Hitoiki Station' lounges—normally reserved for members—to the general public at no cost, driven by our desire to support the Kumamoto community at this critical time.

Typically, members use these spaces to relax in the café area, work in the shared workspace, or unwind using our relaxation equipment.

During this period of disrupted utilities and extreme heat, we hope these spaces can serve as cool, safe havens where people can rehydrate with cold drinks and refresh their bodies using wellness devices—helping to alleviate fatigue from evacuation or recovery work and physical strain from prolonged static postures. We remain committed to standing with the community and providing a place where everyone can truly catch their breath.
