Hattendo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Mihara City, Hiroshima Prefecture; President & CEO: Takamasa Morigami) announces the launch of SIO & BUTTER, a new bakery brand originating from Singapore. The brand will make its debut at the '5th Powder Fair' held at Tobu Department Store Ikebukuro from Wednesday, June 17, 2026. The local brand manager from Singapore will visit Japan to deliver the joy of freshly baked goods through live demonstrations.
SIO & BUTTER is a new brand driven by Hattendo Singapore Pte. Ltd., established in 2015 to handle overseas marketing. Over the past decade in multicultural Singapore, the company has continuously explored the question, 'What kind of bread can be loved worldwide?'—using Hattendo's iconic cream-filled buns as a starting point. The answer reached after extensive trials is the profound yet minimalist deliciousness brought out by salt and butter. Two new sweet buns have been created by combining carefully selected Belgian fermented butter, French sea salt, and Hokkaido fresh cream from Japan. These artisanal buns are designed to evoke a 'sense of happiness' with every bite, thanks to their rich aroma and texture achieved only when freshly baked and served immediately.
Additionally, a collaboration menu with Killiney Kopitiam, Singapore's oldest surviving Hainanese-style coffee shop, will be offered. 'Kaya & Milk,' a limited-edition item, features traditional kaya jam—used in Killiney Kopitiam's signature kaya toast, a beloved Singaporean soul food—infused into the buns.
Moving forward, the brand plans to participate in various events across Japan and beyond, spreading happiness through SIO & BUTTER.
