HENNGE Joins 'University of Tokyo x Venture Companies AI Research Forum' with 21 Participating Startups

HENNGE Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Kazuhiro Ogura) announces its participation in an industry-academia collaborative AI research forum initiated by the Department of Information and Communication Engineering, Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, The University of Tokyo, and 21 venture companies. This initiative brings together corporate and academic stakeholders to discuss technical challenges and research topics, jointly exploring product development, societal implementation, and deeper research advancements.

The first meeting of the 'University of Tokyo x Venture Companies Industry-Academia Collaborative AI Research Forum' was held on May 28, 2026. Until March 2027, participating groups composed of companies and university members will examine research themes and discuss potential societal deployment and opportunities for joint research.

The initiative is led on the corporate side by Fixstars Corporation as the administrative representative, with executives and engineers from HENNGE and 20 other venture companies participating. Companies are expected to contribute business challenges, field insights, and, where possible, data.

Research areas under consideration include LLMs (Large Language Models), AI agents, speech processing, avatar applications, AI processing infrastructure and inference, AI security and governance, AI algorithms, and multimodal systems—covering a broad spectrum of AI-related fields. Faculty members and graduate students from the University of Tokyo’s Department of Information and Communication Engineering will participate alongside companies, forming collaborative groups to explore research themes and foster new academic-industrial partnerships.

Through this open innovation initiative, HENNGE aims to enhance its cloud security service 'HENNGE One' and contribute to building safe and appropriate environments for AI utilization.
