HIDA Exhibits at ORGATEC TOKYO 2026

HIDA Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Takayama, Gifu; President: Akiko Okada) will participate in 'ORGATEC TOKYO 2026,' held at Tokyo Big Sight from June 2 (Tue) to June 4 (Thu), 2026.

At the booth for the wood furniture brand HIDA, under the concept of 'a universal space born from meticulous craftsmanship,' the company will propose two scenes: a lounge area composed of the 'kei' series designed by Wataru Kumano using domestic wood, and a cafe area that fosters interaction through food.

The spatial design is handled by the design studio FLOOAT. In a digitized work scene, they focus on the richness created by the texture of wood and the passage of time, exploring new possibilities for wooden furniture in office spaces.

### Lounge Space Featuring 'kei'

In the semi-closed lounge area, the 'kei' series, designed by Wataru Kumano using Japanese chestnut wood, will be unveiled for the first time at ORGATEC TOKYO.

As office work centers on digital devices, there is a growing need for a realistic, tactile sense of comfort that stimulates human senses. The 'kei' series, which accepts the knots and fluctuations in grain—traces of the wood's long life—as they are, meets these sensory needs in office spaces.

### Environmentally Conscious Cafe

A cafe will be set up to allow visitors to experience HIDA's diverse initiatives and values through food as well as furniture and space.

At the venue, there will be a finger food demonstration by 'CAFE & TABLE KOU,'*2 using red turnips from a farm that uses 'Sugisansui'*1, a biostimulant material extracted from cedar branches and leaves that would otherwise be discarded. These will be served with small plates*3 made from offcuts generated in the furniture manufacturing process, allowing visitors to enjoy them while gathered around a large table.

Around the table, HIDA chairs, including the '3r-h furniture' series designed by Ryuji Mitani, making its debut at Orgatec, will be arranged, extending the comfort cultivated in daily life into the office space.

*1 'Sugisansui' is a biostimulant material manufactured and sold by HIDA. *2 'CAFE & TABLE KOU' is a cafe attached to the direct-managed store in Takayama, Gifu. *3 The wooden plates for finger food can be taken home as a novelty. (Limited quantity, available while supplies last.)

### Collaboration with FLOOAT

The spatial direction and design of this year's HIDA booth are handled by FLOOAT, known for their space expression backed by a sophisticated approach to materials and colors. This is the third year in a row that HIDA and FLOOAT have collaborated at Orgatec.

For the panels composing the booth, a modular system developed jointly by HIDA and FLOOAT is used. By designing it to be flexibly reconfigured according to the environment and purpose rather than a one-off exhibition space, it proposes a sustainable way for exhibitions to exist.
