Next-Gen Intrusion Detection Solution Introduced for Solar Power Plants

NTT Docomo Business and Panasonic Connect have introduced a next-generation intrusion detection solution for mega-solar power plants to combat copper cable theft. Solar power plants are often located in remote areas, making them vulnerable to theft, which has become a serious issue. While traditional sensors faced challenges such as false alarms and detection failures, this new solution utilizes millimeter-wave radar and security cameras to achieve high-level monitoring in wide, unmanned areas. With the 'Metal Theft Prevention Act' set to be fully implemented on June 1, 2026, efforts to ensure the stable operation of infrastructure are accelerating.
