Office District Transforms into Summer Festival Grounds! 'Otemachi, Marunouchi, Yurakucho Summer Festival 2026'

The Otemachi, Marunouchi, Yurakucho Summer Festival Executive Committee and Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. will host the annual summer event 'Otemachi, Marunouchi, Yurakucho Summer Festival 2026' in the Marunouchi area (Otemachi, Marunouchi, Yurakucho). On Friday, July 24, 'Marunouchi Bon Odori 2026' will be held on Ginza-dori, followed by 'Otemachi Ennichi 2026' on Thursday, July 30 and Friday, July 31 at Otemachi Nakadori, illuminating the summer nights with vibrant festivities.

At 'Marunouchi Bon Odori 2026', a traditional festival tower will be erected facing Tokyo Station's Marunouchi building, creating an authentic Japanese summer atmosphere where visitors can experience Bon Odori dancing. The event will be energized by 'Bon Odori Supporters', a performance team composed of office workers from nearby buildings. The opening ceremony will feature 'Cheer Re-Man’s', a popular corporate cheerleading performance group known as 'cheering salarymen'. Food stalls in collaboration with local restaurants and summer festival-style food trucks will be available. Additionally, the venue will offer 'uchimizu' (water sprinkling) experience booths promoted by the Ministry of the Environment and Tokyo Metropolitan Government for heat relief, as well as parasol rentals.

'Otemachi Ennichi 2026' marks its 10th anniversary since its debut in 2016. The event will feature food stalls and takeout menus in collaboration with local eateries, along with premium festival experiences. With support from 'Hoshinoya Tokyo', a luxury urban ryokan, special dishes such as 'Seafood Shell Roast' curated by 'Sushi Otemon' will be offered. Visitors can also enjoy workshops like handmade paper fan crafting, goldfish scooping, and treasure fishing, all reflecting refined Japanese aesthetics.

The festival aims to deepen affection and familiarity with the Marunouchi district by co-creating a unique summer celebration with local workers and visitors.

Marunouchi Bon Odori 2026 Highlights

Opening Ceremony

Guest performers include 'Cheer Re-Man’s', the popular corporate cheer team known as 'cheering salarymen'.

Midway through the ceremony, the traditional 'uchimizu' (water sprinkling) will be performed from the main stage tower to provide cooling relief. An 'uchimizu' experience corner will also be available on-site.

The water used for 'uchimizu' is recycled 'reclaimed water' from building drainage in the Marunouchi area, sharing Japan's traditional wisdom of resource circulation and cooling.

Marunouchi Summer Festival Tower

Participants can gather around the festival tower set up in front of Tokyo Station's Marunouchi building to enjoy Bon Odori dancing for all ages. The event will feature last year’s popular 'Summer Festival J-pop Time', live taiko drumming and traditional instruments, and the new 'Bon Odori Supporters' performance team made up of local office workers.

Takeout Food Stalls

Restaurants in the Marunouchi area will offer special takeout menus for the Bon Odori event. Festival-style food and drink menus will also be available. To combat the summer heat, parasols will be available for rent near food stalls, ensuring a comfortable festival dining experience.
