Is his motive madness, or love? Legendary unsolved case, revival set for this winter in December!
This production is a masterpiece musical originally created in the Czech Republic, adapted in Korea, and achieved explosive long-run success. In 2021, it made its highly anticipated Japanese premiere under the direction of Akira Shirai, overwhelming audiences with its dense world and shocking developments, concluding its run amidst fervent acclaim.
The stage is set in 1888, in a fog-shrouded London. The story accelerates around the pure love between Daniel, a young surgeon from America, and Gloria, a prostitute fighting against a harsh fate. The frenzy of the media chasing scoops, Detective Anderson's struggle as he pursues the case and his sorrowful reunion with his former lover Polly, and the murderer "Jack the Ripper" who sneers from the darkness. Layers of love and desire eventually lead to an unimaginable conclusion.
The cast for the 2026 performances has now been announced. Tatsunari Kimura, who continues from the Japanese premiere, and Soichi Hirama, participating for the first time, have been cast as Daniel, the pure-hearted elite surgeon who falls into darkness.
Yuya Matsushita will reprise his role as Detective Anderson, who lives a solitary life for justice while hiding a fragile heart and acting wild. Yoshikuni Dōchin (CHEMISTRY) will also reprise his role as the serial murderer known as "Jack the Ripper," who terrorizes citizens and makes a mysterious comeback. Furthermore, it has been revealed that Kazuki Kato will perform both the role of Anderson and the murderer Jack in alternating performances, as he did in the previous production.
Ayaha Kumagai will play Gloria, the prostitute whose love with Daniel leads to tragedy. Maria Kanno will join as Polly, a prostitute whose feelings for Anderson are misunderstood. Additionally, Mario Tashiro will reprise his role as the newspaper reporter Monroe, who will stop at nothing to chase scoops, a role he portrayed with an unprecedentedly strong and eccentric character in the Japanese premiere.
With a story as unpredictable as a roller coaster and beautiful, passionate music that you won't forget once you hear it. The excitement that captivated Japan in its premiere returns, further evolved under the direction of Akira Shirai. The abyss of human drama depicted with meticulous interpretation and delicate expression. In the winter of 2026, the truth of "Jack the Ripper" will once again shake your heart.

◉Director: Akira Shirai
The Japanese premiere five years ago and the pandemic are inseparable in my mind. The sight of the cast on stage, believing in the power of performing arts, combined with the characters' desperate struggle to live, created immense emotion in the audience.
This work is not merely a crime drama. Against the backdrop of 19th-century London's darkness, it harbors a profound message depicting the inner conflicts of humanity and societal distortions. "Jack the Ripper" is a symbol of our fears and desires, and his existence poses questions to our hearts across time.
For this revival, I intend to approach this story with even deeper emotion and energy, incorporating new perspectives. I sincerely look forward to sharing the charm of this work with the audience once again.
◉Tatsunari Kimura (Daniel, W Cast)

◉Yoshikuni Dōchin (Jack, W Cast)
The foggy streets are filled with silence,
People in town are swayed by poverty and desire,
And terrified by the mysterious events.
Recalling this stage,
I feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement bubbling up.
Thank you for your support.
◉Ayaha Kumagai (Gloria)
I am Ayaha Kumagai, and I will be playing the role of Gloria.
I am deeply honored to be able to participate in this work that is loved by so many people.
The audition for Gloria under Akira Shirai's direction was a very educational experience, and I remember strongly wishing it would continue.
I am thrilled to be able to delve into that dense world from now on.
I will do my best.
◉Maria Kanno (Polly)
I am very honored to be able to participate in the world of "Jack the Ripper," which continues to be loved by many.
I want to portray Polly with care, so that her existence, which does not lose warm love despite her unreasonable fate, can bring a small light to this work.
I sincerely look forward to meeting you all at the theater.
◉Mario Tashiro (Monroe)
"...Oh!? It's here, it's here, it's here, it's here!!!! This thrill that makes my blood boil! This is the scent of a scoop!" Breaking news, extra edition! Jack the Ripper has reappeared for the first time in 5 years since the Japanese premiere in 2021! This time, I'll get a huge scoop and make 1000 pounds! The split, of course, is 60/40!

<Story>
1888, foggy London. The shadow of Jack the Ripper (Kazuki Kato / Yoshikuni Dōchin), a brutal murderer targeting only prostitutes, lurked there. Investigator Anderson (Kazuki Kato / Yuya Matsushita) attempts a covert investigation but faces persistent pursuit from Monroe (Mario Tashiro), a reporter for the London Times hungry for scoops. Anderson, addicted to drugs and in financial distress, finally agrees to the forbidden transaction of selling information.
Amidst this, the young surgeon Daniel (Tatsunari Kimura / Soichi Hirama), returned from America, appears before Anderson to accuse the culprit. A fateful connection between him, Gloria (Ayaha Kumagai), a former prostitute, and Jack. As the case becomes more complex, Anderson plans a risky sting operation, but to his shock, a murder notice from "Jack the Ripper" is published on the front page of the newspaper. The tragedy accelerates, involving his former lover Polly (Maria Kanno) as well.
What is the true identity of "Jack" lurking in the darkness? And what is the real purpose hidden behind his heinous acts?
