National Average Hourly Wage for Part-time Jobs is 1,245 Yen, Up 3.66% Year-on-Year

Frog Inc., a provider of big data for job analysis (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kyoko Sakano), has released the 'May 2026 Part-time Job Average Hourly Wage and Job Opening Report.' The national average hourly wage for part-time jobs in May was 1,245 yen (+1 yen from the previous month, +44 yen from the same month last year), an increase of 0.08% from the previous month and 3.66% from the same month last year. The number of national part-time job openings was 494,967 (-63,975 from the previous month, -82,674 from the same month last year), a decrease of 11.45% from the previous month and 14.31% from the same month last year. The top three job categories by hourly wage growth rate (month-on-month) were 1st: Creative (non-Web), 2nd: Hotel/Ryokan/Bridal, and 3rd: Sales/Admin/Planning/Management.
