Nature Innovation Group, operator of the umbrella-sharing service 'Ikasa', has partnered with seven Keihan Group companies to launch their service at 60 spots across railway stations, shopping malls, department stores, and office buildings. Initiated as part of the 'KEIHAN BIOSTYLE PROJECT', the rollout begins on June 5, Environment Day. This is the first joint station-commercial facility umbrella sharing initiative by a railway group in Kansai. The program aims to reduce plastic waste from disposable umbrellas, decrease lost umbrellas on trains, and establish convenient rainy-day transportation infrastructure. Launched in December 2018, Ikasa is Japan's first full-scale umbrella-sharing service, helping users borrow and return durable umbrellas via a mobile app. The service has grown to over 900,000 app users and 2,300 spots across 12 prefectures.
