The ranking site 'Rank+,' operated by I-Bridge Inc., conducted a survey on 'how we spend our holidays' among 1,000 men and women in their 20s to 50s across Japan. The results revealed that there is zero overlap in the top 3 activities between genders, highlighting 'four shades of landscapes' where holiday styles differ significantly by generation. Men tend to favor individual activities like gaming, walking, and movies, while women prioritize shopping, travel, and time with family or pets. One in four people in their 20s reported having 'no real holiday,' while those in their 30s showed opposing trends between genders, 40-somethings leaned toward indoor activities, and 50-somethings focused on enjoying 'me-time.' Regarding holiday spending, over half of the respondents answered 'less than 10,000 yen,' and about a quarter said they enjoy their time off for 'less than 500 yen.' The survey highlights how people coordinate their own holidays, whether by relaxing at home or enjoying social media and videos, without spending much money.
