The Miyagi Sake Brewers Association (Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture) will hold its first standing event to enjoy Miyagi's sake, 'Miyagi Sake Night in AER,' on July 31, 2026 (Fri) at the AER 5th Floor Multipurpose Hall in Chuo, Aoba Ward, Sendai City.

This event offers a casual way to enjoy local sake, nurtured by Miyagi's rich climate and environment, along with bento boxes paired with the sake, in a standing style. On the day, 23 breweries from Miyagi Prefecture will gather, offering approximately 48 types of their proud sake (scheduled) that they highly recommend for this summer. Furthermore, as a new initiative this time, a 'Sake Highball' booth (sake mixed with carbonated water) perfect for summer will also be available. It will be a special night to enjoy conversations with brewers and experience the new charm and deep diversity of Miyagi's sake.

Currently, 24 companies are members. (Established in 1908 with the improvement and development of brewing technology as its main focus, the Miyagi Sake Brewers Association was dissolved once in 1948 at the request of GHQ (General Headquarters of the Allied Powers) and revived a few years later.) The association engages in a wide range of activities, including cooperating in transmitting government notices and laws to manufacturers, compiling manufacturer reports according to the Liquor Tax Law, providing guidance for improving the quality of Miyagi sake, holding study sessions, and organizing events to promote Miyagi sake.
