Lunchtime "IDP Power Lunch vol. 7" to Support the Learning and Challenges of Business Professionals Held

For this IDP Power Lunch, we will invite Satoru Uyama to discuss "Why Excellent Employees Fail to Innovate When They Become Executives."

This is a challenge many companies face. The background involves a trap unique to excellent talent, such as clinging to past successes and losing their "authentic self" by being bound by organizational frameworks.

In this session, we welcome Satoru Uyama, who is active in the business field, as our guest.

This 45-minute session will explore the "unlearning" and "leadership approaches" necessary for innovative management personnel, drawing from Mr. Uyama's experience of bringing transformation to his team and leading them to the top of the world from the limited position of a "reserve player."

- "Unlearning" to discard past successes (existing frameworks): The curse of past success patterns that even excellent people fall into. What "common sense" did Mr. Uyama discard to reach the pinnacle of the world as a former Japanese national fencing representative? We will delve into the determination required of executives to break themselves down and drive change.

- "Authenticity (self-axis)" to drive change from a limited position: The difficult position of a "reserve player" on the world's highest stage. How was it possible to remain an active participant in moving the team in an environment where it's easy to become a bystander? We will explore the source of intrinsic motivation that is not bound by titles.
