A joint venture consisting of IHI Infra Square (a wholly-owned subsidiary of IHI), Toyokuni Kogyo, and Sato Tekko has been awarded the 'Tone River Estuary Weir Large-Scale Earthquake Countermeasure and Gate Equipment Renovation Work' by the Japan Water Agency. To maintain the functionality of the weir, which was installed in 1971, even in the event of a large-scale earthquake, the gate equipment will be updated in stages. The construction period is a long-term project spanning over 10 years, from April 2026 to July 2036.
